Thanksgiving vs. Black Friday

Lets talk about this Black Friday shenanigans...I think it is absolutely crazy that Black Friday exists. Yes the deals may be good but why is it that people have to make complete fools out of themselves to get the deals. Please proceed to the following pictures and I will explain:
So after giving thanks for the things you already have....you get in line and fight with other people because of "deals" on things you really may not even need. This brings me to the question of...why do people (mostly guys) fight? In this situation do you think that you will get ahead in line? Probably not...you will most likely get kicked out. Do you think you will save money on your "deals" if you fight? Probably not...because you may have some hospital bills to pay for your injuries or the other persons injuries...better yet, maybe even a ticket to pay or lawsuits.
People literately getting trampled. I mean honestly that is someones mom and grandma...how would you feel if that happened to your mom or grandma? Is it really worth getting TRAMPLED and potentially hurt for a few dollars off something that you probably don't even need? I mean really people....have some dignity.
A few years ago I worked at a Best Buy and this is what people did. They froze their butts off to camp outside of Best Buy for THREE TO FOUR DAYS before Black Friday....are you people out of your mind!? Do you know that is just CRAZY? I remember that year someone even fried a turkey on Thanksgiving in front of Best Buy in their tent.
I feel so bad for those two people working at that store. It is chaos all around them and people look like the world is coming to an end. No people...the world isn't coming to an end, you are just crazy to get a "good deal". I think the funny part is how, if people would just wait till after the holidays or for any other major sale that they would get even better deals. Lets face it the only people that get awesome deals on Black Friday are the crazy campers.

Now on top of Black Friday stores want to open earlier or even be open for Thanksgiving. Take a look at this article. This is crazy for two reasons:

Reason one: The people that work at these retail stores have families too...they need to enjoy their Thanksgiving with their families. Of course the big shots at the corporate offices don't care if their stores are open because they won't be working. Trust me when I say this....the CEO's of Walmart, Target, Best Buy and any other store that will be open on Thanksgiving will not be working on Thanksgiving, but the actual store workers will. I don't see how this is fair or even humanly right.

Reason two: People shopping Black Friday or now Thanksgiving. Truly it comes down to what is more important.. spending time with your family during holidays or spending time in stores to get "the best deal"? Yes I understand that some people have made it a tradition to go shopping on Black Friday but that doesn't mean on actual Thanksgiving.

Personally, I think friends and family are more important to me than the material things I would be getting on the day that we are supposed to be thankful for the things we already have. Thanks for reading my little venting session about Black Friday and Thanksgiving.

How do you feel about Black Friday? What are you most thankful for?

I went, I procrastinated but I'm still GRADUATING

I don't think some people understand how freaking excited I am to graduate. It's been a roller coaster of 4 and a half years. Yes it took me 4 AND A HALF years to finish and I'm actually proud of it. First of all because I went to Ohio University (the biggest party school in Ohio) and partied my butt my freshman year. Oh man oh man the stories I have from that place. I went, I made friends, I drank and then I came home...willingly.
The pictures above don't do justice of the amazing memories I made in only one year. Yes, I made a lot of bad choices but I wouldn't have changed one of those choices. After transferring to CSU I was basically forced to grow up and focus on my future career. Yes I still partied...a lot...yes I still procrastinated....a lot.. but nothing makes me happier right now than seeing all of those green check marks!
These darn green check marks mean that I've completed my undergrad degree with a double major in marketing and international business! I don't think I can explain to anyone how proud and happy I am to have actually started and finished my undergrad degree. Now all I need to do is pass these last 4 classes and get that darn diploma! Well, I guess wish my luck in the "adult" world out there!

The Weekender #3 - Birthday Edition

What a weekend it was! Friday night it was a celebration for Carson's birthday and let me tell you....we celebrated.

Friday
CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE

I swear Friday was one of the best days off I've had in a long time. It was filled with homework/research (boring I know) but I swear the day picked up.
I did some shopping but only went to a few very select stores that I haven't visited in a long time (Forever 21, Charlotte Russe and Francesca's), got in the gym and most importantly I went and got Carson's birthday presents & a birthday cake!

Then I went home and began to get all dolled up! I mean I looked freaking hot, my makeup was perfection even though it took me about 2 hours to get ready. I painted my nails, gave myself an awesome blowout hair dry so my hair would have amazing volume, I used some corner eyelashes, put on some red lipstick, wore super high wedges (6 inches!!!), some red skinny jeans...basically the whole 9 yards.
I start driving to Carson's and I get there to find ZERO parking, so I parked like a good 10 minute walk from her apartment building. Mind you, I was wearing like 6 inch wedges, red skinny jeans, holding the cake in one hand and my presents and purse in the other....surprisingly I didn't fall (yet). I get into Carson's apartment, at this point I'm still holding everything but with my left hand I was holding on to the wall by her closet door to take my shoes off. And all of the sudden Carson shuts the closet door...ON MY FINGER! Talk about painful. Then we sang happy birthday, opened presents, started doing birthday drinks and then the night started going down till fast...I mean FAST!
The rest of the night in pictures
As you can tell from the pictures we had a great time! Carson loved her cake & presents and we all just had a fantastic time together. In short let me quickly highlight the mishaps that we didn't get pictures of:
1. I got my finger stuck in a closet door and it hurt soo bad
2. Carson's boyfriend passed out before we even went out so we had to take a cab.
3. I fell a few times (because of uneven ground) and my heels (I swear I know how to walk in them). But I have bruises on my feet where my shoes were.
4. I sent way too many snapchats.
5. We spent about 30$ on cab rides.
6. I lost my credit card :(

How was your Friday night?
Don't you hate losing things....especially important things!?

Weekly Wishes #2 - Memories

I am actually very proud of myself to be doing these Weekly Wishes. I tend to not keep up with things so this is great that I made it to week 2! If you want to know what Weekly Wishes are, take a look at the originator of this at The Nectar Collective.

Picture: Since this weeks linkup is about Memories this picture fits perfectly. The story behind this picture is plain and simple...a fantastic vacation at a beautiful resort in Punta Cana. This past summer my family, My Guy and I spend 11 very relaxing days in the beautiful Punta Cana. I would love to go back to this beach right about now!

Last Weeks Wishes
1. Get my schoolwork in a good spot. I need to get this down for two reasons: my sanity and graduation. I have 4 (huge) different group projects to get done before Thanksgiving and 2 30 minute presentations and 1 10 minute presentation all before I graduate (December 15)! I am stressed to say the least and I feel as I work on these projects a good amount but nothing gets done. So this week, I need to get 3 out of the 4 projects in a good spot. Wish me luck on this one...I really need it.
2. Stay on track with the gym. Last Sunday (Nov 3) I started my plan of heading to the gym whenever I have some free time and making sure I am eating healthy. Last week went good, I got in the gym 5 times! So I really want to stick to this to really make a change in my lifestyle.

I am very proud to say that I accomplished both of these! I did a lot of schoolwork last week and this past weekend.  And I made it to the gym 4 days last week! Very successful first week of Weekly Wishes!
______________________________________________________________________________

This Weeks Wishes
1. Finish My Guy's Birthday Present. This has to happen this week because next week will be super busy with exams and finishing up papers. And I get to go see him for Thanksgiving! I hope he loves everything I have in mind to get him.
2. Stay on track with the gym. I make this a weekly wish again because it is something that has become very important to me. Plus I want to look hot for Thanksgiving in Tampa with My Guy!

[Liebster Blog Award]

As a new blogger, it means so much to be nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Ashleigh at MurdockTalks. Check out her blog when you have a second, it looks amazing and she has a lot of interesting posts! Again I am beyond thrilled to be nominated for this award!!

The Rules of the Liebster Award are:
  1. You nominate someone with less than 200 followers.
  2. You must then put the logo somewhere in the post and on your blog so others know you've been nominated.
  3. Write 11 facts about yourself
  4. Answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated you set for you to answer.
  5. Also link the blogger who nominated you.
  6. Nominate 11 other bloggers.
  7. Finally, you must write 11 questions for the nominees to answer.

11 (Very Random) Facts About Me:
  1. I adore high heels...even though they hurt my feet so incredibly bad.
  2. Traveling is my favorite! If I were rich, I would travel the world.
  3. Secretly, I would love to be a writer for a travel magazine....because I love to travel so much.
  4. My closet consists of black, black, black and some other random colors.
  5. Birthdays are my favorite holiday....it's a day all about you so why not live in the spotlight.
  6. I love fall/winter/spring because its just magical outside, the leaves changing colors and its an excuse to cuddle all the time.
  7. I have a love for airports and planes. I sometimes purposefully buy plane tickets with layovers in airports I've never visited before.
  8. If I could move to any country it would be Switzerland or England.
  9. I love culture and the diversity in people.
  10. For the longest time I tried being someone I'm not just to "fit in". (huge mistake my friends)
  11. I love tea. If I could drink tea all day everyday I definitely would.
Questions from Ashleigh:

How did you choose your blog name?

  • I chose my blog name by adding the things I love the most. I love to travel and try new cultures and make new memories, that's where "Boarding" came from. And "Together" came from my love of my family, friends and boyfriend. This blog was mostly designed for myself and My Guy's journey through life together.
Who are your favourite bloggers?
  • That is a hard one since I'm new to blogging. I enjoy reading all blogs that have some meaning to my life or are just plain old great to read!
What is your dream job?
  • This is actually funny because last night I was telling my mom how much fun it would be to be a Tornado Chaser....but that's a little too risky for me. So I would have to say I would love to be a writer for a Travel magazine.
One beauty product that you could not live without?
  • My eyeliner. Plain and simple I adore my Avon Cosmetics eyeliner.
If you could only have products from one makeup brand, what would it be?
  • MAC, mostly because I love their pigments and the the variety of their products.
What is your favourite season? Why?
  • This is a hard one. Don't get me wrong, I like summer just as much as the next girl. But since I've gotten older (I'm only 23 haha) I have taken on a lot of responsibility so summer isn't really summer anymore. I love Fall/Winter/Spring. I love Fall because of the changing of the leaves. I love Winter because of the snow, call me crazy but I think it's just magical. And I love Spring because I like listening to the rain.
What is on the top of your Wish List?
  • Honestly, nothing materialistic just health, love and happiness.
Gold or Silver?
  • Depending on my outfit, but mostly silver.
What is your favourite candy?
  • I can never go wrong with SweetTarts.
What movie did you last watch at the theatre?
  • Hmm, I think it was the 6th Fast and Furious movie.
What are you looking forward to?
  • GRADUATING!! December 15 cannot come fast enough.
What a great list of questions! These were somewhat hard to answer, good job Ashleigh!

Bloggers I Nominate:

Martinis & Bikinis

*I was having troubles finding 11 blogs so this is my list!

Questions for my Nominees:

  1. Favorite age & why?
  2. If you could live in any country where would it be and why?
  3. Favorite stores to shop at?
  4. Favorite side to go with your favorite dinner dish?
  5. Red lipstick or nude lipstick?
  6. Heels or flats?
  7. Favorite part about blogging?
  8. One item you could not live without?
  9. Who is your role model & why?
  10. What is your most embarrassing story?
  11. Favorite TV show that you would drop everything to watch?
Feeling so blessed writing this &
hope you enjoyed reading and please take
a look at the nominees' blogs as well!

Restaurant Review #3 - Lincoln Tap House

I've visited this location a number of times, mostly because my work is right by Tower City so this location just makes sense to visit. The only times I choose to visit this place is when it's so cold outside that I would rather not walk anywhere better. While there is Houlihan's right next door, I frequent that place too often. Basically the point I'm trying to make is, I don't visit the Lincoln Tap House unless I don't have any other options. There are a few things that I'm not crazy about when it comes to the Lincoln Tap House:
  1. Every time I walk inside, I always have to wait for the hostess to come greet us.
  2. I think it is just a "cold" restaurant. By this I don't mean it is actually chilly inside (even though sometimes it is) but I mean that the atmosphere is just a little bland, at least in the dining room.
  3. The service is just...okay. The server today didn't know what was on the burger I ordered and I asked for a side a ranch that I never received. Correction, I received it after waiting 15 minutes for our server to come around again to check on us.
  4. The food is just okay. I've had a salad with the added chicken and the chicken wasn't cooked well. And the burger I had today (the "Leslie") was so dry and bland.

Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. But it could be a good place to meet with co-workers after a long day of work and have a few drinks and some appetizers. Not my favorite but close to work and the prices are fairly reasonable.

Happy Wednesday Outfit of the Day

I've been posting a lot today because I felt like I had a lot of good things to say...or at least that's what I thought. My post about Target stealing my money and a lot of your agreed with me on this subject! I am also still on my working out kick (and I hope it stays like this) so I posted my Workout Wednesday as well as tips on finding a gym and gym motivation. Now on to my Outfit of the Day because I have been slacking in this department of posting. But I love my outfit today because the shirt is new (finally something new, since I feel like I wear the same thing to work everyday) and its super warm and comfy.
Pants : Express Shirt : Express Shoes: The same ones I always wear
OH & my new iPhone! I got the 5S this weekend and my mom took my old iPhone 4 so she could learn how to use a smart phone!

Random Pictures from Today
I love Tower City during the holidays. The tree and the decorations are beautiful.

I had lunch with a co-worker friend at Houlihan's today. This is the Chicken Asian Chop Chop salad. This salad had sautéed  sesame chicken on a chop chop napa salad with jicama, snow peas, peanuts, bell peppers napa dressing
How is your Wednesday going?

[How to make Spaghetti Squash]

I was looking online for how to make spaghetti squash and I found a few good recipes and I decided to make my own but not use any recipes I had found...just wing it I guess.

Follow the pictures & steps below

  1. Pick out your squash. Most squashes that are good for spaghetti will have the "spaghetti" in it.
  2. Cut the squash in half. Be careful because the squash could be really tough to cut through.
  3. Place the cut squash in the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Time varies based on squash size, check often.
  4. I poked the squash a few times to see if it had softened before taking it out of the oven.
  5. Scoop out the middle&seeds from the squash. BE CAREFUL the squash is very hot
  6. Put the middle&seeds in a bowl off to the side. You can just throw them away or make roasted seeds
  7. This is what the squash should look like after the middle&seeds are taken out
  8. Using a fork, scrape the sides of the squash so it begins to look like the picture.
Once the squash is scrapes it can be used as a side dish by adding some salt & pepper or it can be cooked further with some veggies. I made it with sauteed onions, peppers and shrimp the other day and it was amazing.

Hope you enjoy your spaghetti squash!
What do you mix spaghetti squash with?

Target you steal my money

I took the day off work yesterday so I could catch up on schoolwork but I had a few bumps in the road. I woke up earlier to do research and get in the gym before I was going to settle down and focus on schoolwork. When I woke up I realized my WiFi wasn't working in my house so I tried fixing it. You know the whole restarting it, unplugging it, restarting my computer.....the whole routine, and it still wouldn't work. So I figured it was my WiFi router that had gone bad. This is where Target comes into play...I went to Target JUST to pick up a new router but of course I couldn't walk out with just the router. I ended up buying a candle as well.
Do I need a new candle? No.
Should I be spending money on useless things? No.
Why did I buy the candle? I don't know....I always want to buy everything they sell at Target.
My lovely candle that I didn't need to buy but I still did anyways....thanks Target :)
I know buying a candle isn't a big deal but this is to show that every time I walk into a Target store I always walk out for more things that I originally wanted to buy. This means that when My Guy & I move out and we are looking for things to buy for our new apartment....I need to stay far far away from Target. But they do have super cute things that I want....I want them all.

The rest of my day was so relaxing at home
*after fixing my internet
Lovely roses from out garden. My favorite snack my popcorn. The candle I shouldn't have purchased. The best purchase my MacBook Pro. The death of me binder with all my schoolwork.
I love my popcorn & I love my tea. Nothing better for a cold day of relaxation & homework.
What is your favorite snack?
Do you enjoy cup of tea?
Does Target steal your money too?

Workout Motivation & Workout Wednesday Routine & Tips for picking a gym

This goes great with my Weekly Wishes for this week! I know we all want to look fit and good for the holidays but there it only one way to get there and that is to get your butt to the gym. Not only do you have to get your butt to the gym but you also have to workout when you are there. And I'm not taking about "oh I don't want to mess up my hair or makeup" workout, I mean sweat dripping workout. And by the way.....who does their hair and makeup for the gym!?After you've spend an hour or two at the gym you have to make sure your diet is up to par. If you think that you can workout everyday for an hour and still eat all the crap you used to eat then you better expect to not have many changes to your body.  The only way to change your body is to just do it!

Trust me I know it sucks getting up earlier to workout or working out after a full day or work/school. I feel your pain, I work 8-4:30 and have class every evening but I still make sure you get in the gym after class. yesterday I was very proud of myself because I took the day off of work to do research for papers but I woke up earlier and got in the gym before doing research.
Tips for picking a gym:
  1. Location! I cannot stress this enough. If your gym is on your way home from work or school then you have no excuse for not stopping. Also, you don't want your gym to be more than a 10-15 minute drive from your house because if it's longer than the 10-15 minutes chances are you won't go because your excuse will be "It's so far" or "I don't want to drive that far"
  2. Space. I love my personal space when I'm working out. I like finding my own little spot to do abs, arms and to stretch so make sure the gym you choose has enough personal space.
  3. Workout classes. I used to hate working out I thought it was the biggest waste of time. But then I joined this gym and ever since I really enjoy it, mostly because of the workout classes. Workout classes make working out fun...believe it or not. It's a good way to make friends, use dance as an excuse to burn extra calories or try a yoga class.
  4. Help. Not everyone who works out or goes to the gym knows how to use all of the different machines offered. So look for a gym where the trainers or gym staff are willing to help teach you how to use different machines.
  5. Clean. Make sure the gym you pick is clean. The locker room is the first place I check out when looking to change gyms. I sometimes go to the gym before work and I need to take a shower after working out so I want to showers and the overall locker room to be clean.
I hope my tips help you when looking for a gym or have even triggered the thought of joining a gym if you aren't a member of one. Ok, on to my Workout Wednesday Routine.

Workout Wednesday Routine of the Week

*all of my routines are made by me and these are routines I really do each week. I look for inspiration on Pinterest but I tailor it for my own needs. Feel free to tailor this routine to your own workout needs.

Hope my motivation, gym tips and workout routine
help you stay on track or get on track this week.

Weekly Wishes #1

Since I am still new to blogging I am thankful for Bloglovin since I can find different blogs I am interested in. Today while looking around Bloglovin I came across The Nectar Collection and I decided to link up my first Weekly Wishes.

In the spirit of "hobbies", the picture for the post shows my favorite thing to do which is travel. I swear there is nothing better than visiting a new place whether its a new city, state, country or continent I just love to travel. I read travel books, I follow travel blogs, I am obsessed with the Travel Channel, and I use any excuse I have to see a place I've never seen before.

Restaurant Review #2 - Humble Wine Bar

This was attempt #2 to have an evening at this location. The first time I tried visiting Humble the wait was about 2 and a half hours...that is crazy! I would never wait for a table for that long. Anyways back to this time visiting Humble. The wait was around 15-20 minutes this time which was fine because us girls like to chat. Myself, Shannon and Jessica each ordered a glass of wine to start off the evening while waiting for our table. The restaurant was full of conversations and pleasant evenings coming from each table around us.In my opinion, Humble is a perfect location to catch up with friends and enjoy a relaxing evening filled with laughter, vino and good food.
Our appetizers arrived just in time for glass #2 of vino for each of us!

One of our favorite things to try when visiting a wine bar (or any location) is a cheeseboard. The cheeses we ordered were amazing...but I don't remember the name of all of them since there were so many to choose from. I know there was a Brie, a smoked blue cheese, a cheddar cheese and two different ones that I don't remember. The fixings with the cheese board were honey, fig jam, nuts as well as housemade crackers & baguette.

Since Humble is known for their pizza's we had to try one! The pizza we ordered was the Shrimp pizza which was amazing other than the fact that I could not cut it with my knife. Yes, I do eat pizza with my hands but I didn't want to get my hands dirty and it is more ladylike to eat with a fork & knife. This Shrimp pizza was made with roasted garlic (don't worry you won't smell like garlic, it's not that strong), calabrian chilies (which makes the pizza spicy...we asked for extra), sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. Talk about a delicious pizza!
This was the perfect girls night at such a relaxing yet alive wine bar. I will definitely say that the vino was flowing, the laughter and conversation filled the air and the appetizers were the perfect touch. I would visit this location again but I would not wait more than 15-20 minutes for a table and it is the perfect place for a girls night or just getting together with friends for a good evening together.

The Weekender #2

Totally a blogger fail since I haven't posted since Wednesday...but it was a really busy Thursday & Friday so I guess that counts as an excuse?

Thursday I had my very first End of Year meeting with the guys are work. But let me tell you the day started off terrible. And by terrible I mean terrible, I was late getting to the meeting because of dummy drivers since it was raining (yes people, we live in Cleveland and it rains sometimes no need to drive 20 mph on the highway). Well it was a cold and rainy Thursday morning but I survived with my favorite grey scarf and my North Face to keep me warm as I ran through the rain.

I had to add the snowflakes boarder on this picture since it was finally available to use! I think it makes the picture more festive for the holidays and it just reiterates how cold it was Thursday morning.

Friday was spent with my loving parents. My mom was feeling a little under the weather so I spent the afternoon with her and my dad.

Saturday Night - Girls Night
Saturday night was such a lovely evening with two fantastic girl friends. I don't these girls often but whenever we all get together it is always such a good time. We spent most of the time having some vino and appetizers at Humble Wine bar (review post to follow).
Shannon & I ventured on to Society Lounge where we each had a Moscow Mule which is made with Smirnoff #21 vodka, line juice, ginger puree and soda. We enjoyed these drinks while listening to a 60s singer, Phil Turk. The location is perfect for these type of performances, it feels like you are whisked away in time.

Sunday is always the day for wasting away time over a long breakfast with my parents, homework, a visit to the gym and this Sunday was also spent at Express. I'm always a sucker for their sales :)

Did you have a good weekend?
What was the highlights from your weekend?

Workout Wednesday

Welcome to Workout Wednesday
where chicks become fit

Sunday was my official day back in the gym and eating healthy since I took a month break...2 months ago (oops). But I am proud to say that I am sore...really sore. I took Monday off to recover and last night I did some cardio and strength training but tonight I'm back in the gym again! I mean who wants to look like crap for holiday pictures and parties...no this chick and I hope not you either.
This will be my workout routine for tonight's gym session. Well since the Strength Training is a little hard to read I'll type it out here (fail..I know, next week will be better).
100 Jumping Jacks
30 Second plank (right)
30 Second plank (left)
30 Second plank (center)
25 Crunches on stability ball (feel free to hold a weight close to your chest for added weight)
25 Russian twists with 7 lb. weight
20 Squats
15 Lunges each side with weighted twist
10 Push ups
REPEAT TWICE

I hope everyone takes advantage of these weekly workout routines to be sexy and fit! Let me know what you like and don't like about this routine so I know what changes to make in the next weeks.

Why don't you use a turn signal?!

One of my biggest pet peeves is terrible drivers...especially during rush hour. My driving background: I've been driving since I was 15(and a half) and now I'm 23 years old. The only accident I've been in is when some dummy that obviously wasn't paying attention rear-ended me when I was stopped at a red light. Talk about annoying...if he would have just been attentive we wouldn't have been in this debacle. Not only was my car all bent up (and I didn't really care about his car) but we caused traffic....everyone hates traffic! Oh and then he pulled the "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" Umm no buddy, you are not sorry because you weren't paying attention!
I know the accident doesn't look that bad but after the cops came and we untangled our cars...his front bumped was shattered (well that sucks...maybe you should have been paying attention) and my back bumper was bent in. Then I went home and made the mistake of getting a book out of my trunk as if I was going to study. Well then problem #2 happened....the trunk would not close AT ALL.
Thank dummy driver that wasn't paying attention.

Now back to why I'm writing this post. There is nothing that makes me more mad then when people cut me off on the highway anywhere and don't use a turn signal.
If someone cuts me off and if I rear-end them because they cut me off without using a turn signal I would be the maddest person on that highway at that time. And I know if that would happen the person that cut me off would probably complain and get all attitudy (as if I cared) that I rear-ended them....well if you would just use a darn turn signal and let people know where the heck you want to go then rear-endings(if that's even a word) would not happen!

In conclusion, I just want to know why people think its a fantastic idea to not use a turning signal on the highway during rush hour!?

Is this one of your big pet peeves? Have you ever gotten in an accident because of turn signal dummies?!

I will say that October was a great month! Janelle loved Anti gravity Yoga. I absolutely enjoyed every fattening calorie I drank and ate. Reminiscing on old memories from high school was so much fun even though it was mostly because of the passing of a great guy (RIP Brandon Smith). And I loved most of my outfits! And of course My Guy came to visit ♥

What was the highlight of your October?

[random act of kindness]

I'm not sure if I mentioned this but My Guy moved to Florida about 2 years ago and we've been in a long distance relationship ever since. Yes it sucks because we see each other once a month (or at least we try to). And it's good that we are apart because it has made our relationship stronger and better. We were forced to deal with things that we wouldn't have dealt with if we both lived here. And it made us appreciate each other, our time together and our relationship much more.

Last week I decided to get him a card to put a little smile on his face while he was at work. The reason I picked this card is because we love the rain since it can be so peaceful.

In the card I wrote about how much I appreciate him coming to visit me and that I couldn't wait to see him again! I actually just bought my ticker for Thanksgiving.

As I said before, long distance relationships are good and bad. It all depends what you make of it. Sure in the beginning we argued and we hated the distance (what couple wouldn't do that). But we've worked through our differences and I can proudly say that I'm happier than ever. Plus going to Florida once a month or once every two months has it's perks as well :)

What random acts of kindness have you done?
Anyone you are thankful to be in your life?

Pardon My French / A Day In Heels

My obsession with heels has been and forever will be something I will painfully accept.I love my heels high...the higher the better (not like 8 inches high more like 5-6 inches). Like all heel wearing ladies my feet start to hurt kill after a few hours.I stumbled across a lovely blog about fashion and such, please check it out, Garance Dore.

On this lovely blog I found a very interesting video about walking in heels all day. If you are a girl like me, heels are my best friend. I love heels because they make me feel very feminine, put together, tall and just sexy. My favorite part about this video is the interview with Christian Louboutin as well as other designers during Fashion Week:

First I will say that I walk in heels as much as I can. During the week I'm in 3 inch heels for work/school. And on the weekend I'm in 5-6 inch heels for the nights I go out. Secondly, I absolutely adore Garance Dore's Louboutin's but I will say those particular heels are almost impossible to walk in, at least for me. My parents had purchased those heels for my birthday this year and I had to return them because I could barely walk in the them. And trust me (like I said earlier) I am in heels all the time.

What did you think about the video? Do you love her Christian Louboutins as much as I do?! Do you wear heels everyday? Do you own a pair of Louboutins?

Truly inspiring...Flight turns unforgettable when passengers learn of fallen soldier

Inspirational Storie

I stumbled across this article this morning as I was just reading my daily Yahoo News. This article talks about a man on Delta Flight 2255 from Atlanta to Los Angeles. The flight was also transporting a fallen soldier. The captain of the flight explained to the passengers about the fire trucks they will see once they are landed in Los Angeles. The fire trucks are a way to greet their fallen military with a water canon salute.

Please take a moment to read the full article here
This article is truly touching and inspirational. The fact that passengers on the flight as well as in the airport paying their respects to the fallen soldier and the family is a touching thought and sight. Thank you to everyone protecting the beautiful country we live in. We own all respects to these brave men and women fighting for our safety and protection.

How did this article make you feel? (personally I teared up reading the whole article and watching the video) What are your thoughts about the article?

Thankful Ten #1

Endlessly BeLoved

One of my favorite times of the year is the Holiday Season. Reason being because it is a time to focus on ourselves, our families and our friends. November is very special because it gives us time to reflect back on the things we are thankful for. Everyone lives such busy lives that sometimes we forget to slow down and really appreciate things and be thankful for what we have in our lives. With this being said, I decided to link up with endlessly beloved to share what I am thankful for. So here we go:

My Family - Without my family I wouldn't have the desire and ability to be as successful and driven as I am. They are my biggest cheerleaders and the people I admire and look up to.

My Guy - There is only one word to describe him, amazing. He is my rock and my partner in love & life.

My Friends - These girls are the best! The girls I hang out with are more like sister than friends. They definitely know how to pick you up when you're down and just have a good time.

My Schooling - I never thought I would say this but I am thankful for my schooling. Without my degree I would be flipping burgers at McDonald's (which there is nothing wrong with that I want more from life).

Traveling - I am so thankful to be able to embrace so many different cultures and see all the different corners of the planet. We have a beautiful world, just go out and find it.

Starbucks - Lets face it without coffee I would be sleeping all the time (but seriously). I love their cups, their atmosphere in their coffee shops and their Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Motivation - Without motivation I would get nothing done (zero, zilch, nada). Let me tell you it's hard working Monday-Thursday 7 hours a day and then going to classes every evening after work and trying to get into the gym as much as possible.

Heels - While most of you wouldn't think a girl that is 5'3 is short but I feel short compared to everyone around me. So I wear heels most all the time.

Memories - I love making (fun) memories. I think every day is a chance to do something great and change yourself for the better.

Planes - I love to fly and to visit airports (don't know why but I do). And mostly I love planes because they take me to My Guy.
