Reality Check

Yesterday I met my next door neighbor for the first time. Meeting her was the biggest reality check I've ever experienced. The words that came out of her mouth were the words that I thought I would never hear from this woman. And these words are what made me really realize a lot about myself.

Let me back track....

A few months ago a girl and a guy in their late 20s early 30s moved in next door. After a couple weeks of them living there I met him when I came home one night but I never met her. What I noticed about them is that they have a super cute dog and they both drive very nice cars and seem to have good jobs since I see them in business attire. I've seen them a bunch of times and they seem extremely put together, it always seemed like they were the perfect couple from how they were acting. I used to hear (thin apartment walls) them do very loud dirty and intimate things before and thought "wow that doesn't really seem like them". And I started to judge them because of hearing their intimate moments and how irresponsible that seemed to me.

Yesterday, I met the girl that lives next door. She introduced herself to me and apologized if I've been hearing arguments (in my mind I was thinking I've been hearing something but they haven't been arguments) then she told me that he has been cheating on her all along and she just found out. They seemed like the perfect couple. He seemed like the perfect guy. And now thinking back to when I heard those inappropriate moments of theirs, he was probably cheating on her.

Reality slapped me in the face because I judged both of them before I even knew the whole story.

Have you ever dealt with anything like this?
Have you ever judged someone and then found out the truth?

Give me that lip

My look for the day was so simple and easy to do. My absolute favorite part are my lips. They are a deep purply red. My post was inspired by Sarah from Venus Trapped in Mars. Within the last year or so, I've really started wearing more lipsticks. I love the deeper colors for when it's so cold outside. And I love the bright reds as well as the lighter colors, as long as I don't sparkles all over my lips I'm game.

This has become my all time favorite lipstick for the colder months. It's NARS and the color is called Charlotte.

If you check out my Pinterest you will see how much I love lipsticks. I also really like either doing heavier eyes and lighter lips or vice versa, never ever both! You don't want to look like a clown now.

Friday's are my favorite!

Happy happy Friday everyone! Give yourself a pat on the back, you made it through your first full week of work in 2015!!! WOOHOO! Also, congrats to everyone that didn't freeze this past week because temps have been way below what I would like them to be.  On to the good part of the day, Friday Favorites with Amanda and Five on Friday with April.

Favorite Recipe

I'm always looking for new and healthy recipes. There is nothing bad about this Crab Guacamole and it sure puts me in the mood for summer. I always try to eat avocados so this is the perfect recipe.

Favorite Makeup Find

Brown eyed girl! I love how neutral in color and eye color defying this makeup is. I have very brown eyes so finding new ways to make my eyes pop is important. Plus I know A loves neutral color makeup like this.

Favorite Hair

This is my goal hair for 2015! I love the length and the colors are so warm and amazing. Now I just need to figure out a way to make my hair grow faster, any ideas?

Favorite Wedding Idea

Now I'm not getting married anytime soon, but I absolutely love this idea. Put the seats in a circle so that way everyone can see better, hear better and you're surrounded by your loved ones.

Favorite Quote

Quote to live by. I always say "late" and it usually becomes "never". Mostly because I forget but also because life happens.

Well that's that! The work day is waiting for me and my weekend is begging for me. I can't wait to just relax this weekend, hopefully I will not be as sore tomorrow so I can go to my workout class. Fingers crossed! Happy Friday everyone :)

Humpday Confessions first of 2015!

So freaking excited to have Humpday Confessions back with Melissa!
I mean it's Wednesday and I need something to get me through the day

On this day I confess:

- I cannot stand stupid drivers on the road! Really Cleveland there is about an inch of snow on the SIDE of the road...why ya driving 15 mph on the highway!?

- This cold can just suck it. It's beyond cold and I know there is colder temps to come.

- My feet and legs can stop cramping now. Since it's cold out, my feet and legs love to just cramp every time I walk out of the gym. This should be a sign that God doesn't want me to go to the gym, but then I look in the mirror and see the sign my body is giving me...

- Portion control sucks. I love food so this is hard.

- I need to lose about 15 pounds before May. Man oh man do I have a lot of work to do.

- I spent all this time on vacation trying to get tan and now I'm pealing...really skin.

- The picture above has nothing to do with confessions it just looks like we were having fun and Humpday Confessions are fun, yay!

- Girls with eyebrows that look like caterpillars need to get the hint. It looks like they have a freaking heartbeat.

- I have a love/hate relationship with really high heels. I love them because they look so good and I feel so sexy but I hate them because of how bad they make my feet hurt and then I walk all funny and shit.

What are your confessions for the beginning of 2015?

Cheers to the weekend - First weekend of 2015

Talk about a great first weekend in 2015! You can read all about ringing in 2015 here but right now lets talk about this first weekend :) Linking up with Biana as usual!

Friday

Friday night was spent inside with A. We got a bunch of appetizers and were watching the movie Flight when all of the sudden my parents knocked on the door. Everything was great and everything minus the fact that A wasn't wearing a shirt! I swear nothing was going on just that he always takes his shirt off. God knows what my parents were thinking.

They came over with pizza and we supplied the wine. A was feeling a little awkward so he kept on talking and talking and drinking a little too much wine. A ended up leaving before my parents left and my dad made a comment of "wow he likes to drink". I'm getting frustrated because my parents never like any guy I bring around, they always have some comment to make. Yes A is very American and yes my parents are very Romanian, but I'm both. So I don't know how to go about this. Any suggestions?

Saturday

Saturday night A and I went out for appetizers and drinks a bunch of different places. Our first stop was Press Wine Bar, which is one of my favorite places in Cleveland. I wish I would have a picture of the food we had but I was too into the conversation to snap a picture.

The second place we went was Lolita which is a great Michael Symon restaurant. We ordered wine and the eggplant dip, both were amazing. The atmosphere and decor inside are to die for!

Stop 3 was on accident. We were on our way to The Flying Fig and ended up next door. Next door was The Market Avenue Wine Bar. A little wine bar that only serves beers and wine, no food. It was so cute and the people working were so nice. We were able to taste a bunch of wines before making our final choice.

Stop 4 was the most entertaining. We stopped at 87 West right by where we both live. Now let me tell you about 87 West. This is where A and I had our first date which was awful!!! Like the worst date anyone could ever have. Let me know if you want a post about it. Man oh man it's a story that will never get old for me to tell. Well at 87 West used to work a guy I went on a date with. A guy I met on freaking Tinder of all places. Yes now I know Tinder is for hookups but at the time I didn't. My date with this guy was awful. He showed up with a black eye, got drunk, was telling me about his "amazing" ex girlfriend and later I found out he has a criminal record. Needless to say I ignored texts from him ever since. And now I was face to face with him. A and I sat at the bar and this guy is now the manager of 87 West. Oh the glory of awkward moments.

Sunday

Sunday was a chill and relaxing day. Went to my parents for breakfast and then met up with Carson for bloody marys. It's nice catching up with good friends. Her and I don't get to spend that much time together anymore. After that I went to Target to find a plastic bin for all of my Christmas decorations. Talk about not being able to find a darn lid to the bin. After about an hour of searching I finally found a bin with a lid! Oh and as always instead of just purchasing the bin, I also purchased 50$ of stuff that I really don't need. Damn you Target.

The rest of the evening was spent taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning and doing laundry. A good was to spend Sunday evening with A.

Now back to reality. Back to work and my normal schedule. This evening will consist of paying bills, rent, going to my parents, doing more laundry and of course the bachelor!

How was your weekend?
Are you excited for the Bachelor?
When do you take down your decorations?

Ringing in 2015

For New Years Eve this year, A & I decided to spend it with my parents and two of our friends. My church was hosting a New Years Eve party so we all decided to go to that. The party consisted of appetizers, 3 main courses and dessert oh and I can't forget the open bar. There was music and dancing till the last person left. The crowd however was a little older than what we expected. Basically we were the only people in our 20s and 30s everyone else was way in into their late 40s and up. But we all made the best of it.

A & I started the night at my apartment with a champagne toast to 2014. It was nice to just be us two while I was getting ready and to remember the whole year. We both went through a lot in 2014 so it was nice to recap.

Everyone say hello to one of my best friends V. This girl is a blast and I couldn't ask for a better best friend. So happy to have her by my side.

A & I always take the funniest pictures together. He is always twirling me around or pretending to propose to me. He is such a little stud.

We ended the night with more champagne at midnight, pictures, laughs and lots of love for everyone. It was really nice to spend it with my parents as well as A and our friends.

New Years Day I attended a low key wedding for family friends. It was really nice to finally see them get married but I was so tired from the night before.

She made such a beautiful bride. We all went to the church, watched them get married and then we went to a upscale Asian restaurant for dinner. We had cake, drinks, food and memories.

How did you spend New Years Eve?
Would you ever get married on New Years Day?

Friday Favorites

Happy New Year everyone!! I still cannot believe it's 2015, where have all of the years gone?! I remember when it was 1999 and then 2000 and everyone said that something crazy was going to happen. Well I'm glad that nothing crazy happened but I think it's crazy that it's already 2015. I am hoping and praying that this is going to be a great year. I mean I did start the new year along family and friends. And on New Years Day I went to a low key wedding, so that's a good start...no?

Here are my absolute Friday Favorites as I link up with Amanda.

On my vacation to Punta Cana, I learned that I really like horseback riding. I was terrified at first but after 10-15 minutes I was more comfortable. The hardest part was that I've never rode a horse before and the instructors didn't speak English. But with some hand signs we all worked together well.

After the party we went to for New Years Eve, A and I came to my apartment and made a bed on the floor while we watched the Christmas tree and talked about the new year. Probably one of my favorite moments in a long time. Just so at peace and relaxing.

On New Years Day I went to a low key wedding for a dear family friend. For dinner we went to an Asian restaurant and this was my mom's fortune. I adore it.

And my favorite day of the week right now is FRIDAY! It's really hard to be at work right now but back to reality.
