A wedding and Mother's Day

This past weekend was jam packed again with different commitments. Don't get me wrong, I love being busy and having a lot of plans but sometimes a girl just wants to hang out by the pool with a fruity drink in hand. That might be too much to as for, but hey a girl can dream!

Friday after work I met up with a couple girl friends for happy hour. Of course I didn't take any pictures because I forgot. I was so consumed in our conversations that I totally forgot to take pictures. On my way to happy hour I was having a mental conversation with myself reminding my to take pictures so I could post them. Oh well, better luck next time I guess. I had to make sure that I got Mother's Day cards for A's mom, A's sister and my mom. I also got my A's mom and sister tulips because they were so darn cute. A and I ordered my mom flowers to be delivered and let me tell you....we were extremely disappointed in what she received. You be the judge of these flowers....please tell me what you think.

This is what we ordered:

And this is what she got:

Do you think I have the right to complain?

Saturday morning I woke up early to get ready for A's twins wedding. I had to get all dolled up and then drive for an hour to A's moms house. Let me tell you, driving in 80 degree weather in a tight lacey dress is hot and pretty freaking uncomfortable...but hey anything to look good...right? I swear when it was cold out I complained because it was too cold now that it's hot out I complain because it's too hot.

A and his mom.
Now again on Saturday I was really bad at taking pictures so this is seriously the only picture I have from the wedding. It was a short and sweet wedding. A few family and close friends, just enough to celebrate the marriage between the bride and groom. I do however have one selfie of A and I.

We all had our own opinions about the wedding. I will say that A's mom and I shared a special bond because we were both thinking the exact same thing. There were times that we could basically read each others minds without saying one word. I think I fit in with his family pretty well.

After the wedding we went back to A's sisters house to hang out and have a fire. It was so nice to just relax around the fire with a couple drinks in hand and listen to stories from A's childhood. I swear his family and friends are pretty amazing people.

Now Sunday is where I really being sucking at taking pictures. Can you believe I didn't take one picture on Mother's Day? I really really need to get better at this! Sunday morning we took A's mom out for breakfast before we drove up to Cleveland. It was really nice to take her out and listen to her tell stories about her late husband. I swear I get goosebumps every time her or A talk about him. After breakfast we drove up to Cleveland to have brunch with my parents. I made reservations at a nice restaurant and ended up disappointed. I freaking paid almost $250 for 4 buffets and three drinks....talk about a ripoff. I get the food was pretty gourmet but not that gourmet. Definitely could have went without that hole in my wallet.

Watching the Cavs win at the last second on Sunday evening was amazing! A and I just relaxed at my apartment for the rest of the day.

Note to self, next Mother's Day I should just do something at home or at my parents house. I would be so much more fun and about a quarter of the price.

How was your Mother's Day?
Have you ever been taken aback by the brunch bill?
How do you get along with your significant others family?

Weekending // Birthday

This past weekend was absolutely amazing! We celebrated A's birthday which a weekend long celebration. This was our first time celebrating his birthday together so I wanted it to be special. Friday night I ended up shopping with my mom, doing some cleaning, laundry, wrapping presents and getting ready for Saturday and Sundays' festivities.

Saturday morning was spent making the most amazing guac which I shared with all of you on Friday. You can find the post here. It was a huge hit, everyone loved it. After making the guac And I took B to get his baseball pictures taken and then we were off to A's mom's house to the cookout. We had a blast with his family. I got to meet his twin and a lot of different family members.

His family and friends are so welcoming and sweet. We just hung out all day, ate some delicious food, day drank and then night drank. Drank so much and ate so little that I got sick in the morning. This is so embarrassing but I definitely threw up at least 4 times at A's moms house....not the best impression but I couldn't help it.

Sunday morning after feeling so incredibly awful, we all made it to breakfast with A's family. After breakfast I had the best surprise for A. I told him that we are getting brunch with my parents at 1:30 on Sunday but really it was all of our closest friends that surprised him. He had no idea and was so  surprised when we walked in. I had invited 13 of our closest friends to celebrate his birthday.

After enjoying out delicious brunch and drinks, we decided to go to our friends rooftop patio and just hang out and enjoy the beautiful Cleveland weather. I swear there is nothing better than enjoy a Sunday with amazing weather and our closest friends.

It was so nice to blend my friends and A's friends together for his birthday. Throughout the time that him and I have been together we have really tried to blend our friends together. It's great that everyone gets along. I swear it's so hard to make new friends as we get older.

After enjoying the view and having some drinks we decided to go to another place that is more by the lake. We love going to Shooters in the spring/summer because we can really enjoy the weather by the lake.

All in all, we had a fantastic weekend! It was a great birthday celebration that we will never forget. Our friends are the best for showing up and embracing the day with us.

Have you ever thrown someone a surprise little party?
What is your best birthday memory?
Were you able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend?

Hello May // Friday Favorites

One of my favorite parts about getting back into blogging is not only documenting all of memories but also doing these fun linkups! Today I am happy to say that I am back linking up with Amanda and Liz for Friday Favorites. Let me tell you, these are two of my favorite bloggers that I used to follow religiously, I just need to get back into it. Trust me, these girls are great...go check them out!

Favorite Recipe

This is by far my absolute favorite guac recipe. A and I made it a few months ago and we fell in love with it. We loved it so much that we are making it for a huge birthday bash cookout tomorrow at his moms. And I definitely thank goodness for A because he is so kind to go get everything after work today.

Favorite Outfit

I post this picture of A and I because I adore the outfit I am wearing so much. I am actually going to wear something similar to it on Saturday and possibly Sunday. I am so happy Cleveland is finally having better weather so I can bring out my maxi dresses and flip flops. I think this is a cute but casual look for a cookout, no?

Favorite Hairstyle

I totally love this hairstyle and I would like to try to do it for tomorrows cookout. However, I my hair not nearly as thick or long. So I think extensions are in use for this. Whoever, I don't think I want to wear my extensions to this cookout. I don't want to be chillin' with my weave in around A and his family. What do you think? Maybe try this hairstyle out for brunch on Sunday? Give me your thoughts ladies.

I'm still alive...I promise

Well hello there little blogland. It's been some time....it's been too long. I however have been loving life. So don't fault me for being gone while I have been soaking up every single second of life. Things have been good, really good. Thanks for asking :)

So I wanted to really get back into blogging as a way for me to be able to capture as many memories as possible for my life. With so many things going on this year and the amazing path my life has taken, I just need to make sure I have it all stored somewhere. Plus I will admit that I have really missed reading my daily blogs on Bloglovin'.

I am happy to say that A and I are still doing great! We have been hanging out more than ever. We have been planning trips together, planning Sunday Fundays, working out together...basically everything together. Minus like going to the bathroom or something crazy like that because...well....ew.

We have been watching Cavs games religiously because this is probably one of the best things that has happened to Cleveland sports in a long time. So of course this calls for Sunday Fundays with brunch and lots of delicious mimosas.

So yeah, life has been great! I'm glad to be back in the blogging world. I need to get back to my weekly linkups and posting all the time. I freaking miss this stuff! Time to make time for this little blog that started from the end of something that should have ended a long time ago and is continuing into something that I am beyond excited to share with everyone.

Obsession - Fitbit

I wish that I could shout it from the mountain top how obsessed and in love I am with my Fitbit. A got it for me for Valentine's Day and ever since that day I have been crazy about hitting my goals. I really like how simple and sleek the Fitbit Flex is. I thought I wanted to return it and get the Charge but that one is so much bigger and bulkier. Plus for the Flex there is that super cute Tory Burch bracelet that I can purchase in the future.

For those of you that don't know what the Fitbit is....have you been living under a rock!? I mean honestly, I think these new tracks have taken over the fitness world. I love that I can track how many steps I've taken and each day it pushes me to want to do more.

I like challenging myself by adding 50 extra steps everyday I hit my goal. For instance, yesterday I hit my goal of 9,550 steps so my goal today is 9,600 steps. I will be extremely shocked if I hit my goal for today because Mondays are usually my lazy days.

One of my other favorite features is that I compete with my girl friends. It really motivates me to keep going and do more. It's just a friendly completion :)

Do you have a Fitbit?
Which one do you have?
Do you like it, love it or hate it?

Reality Check

Yesterday I met my next door neighbor for the first time. Meeting her was the biggest reality check I've ever experienced. The words that came out of her mouth were the words that I thought I would never hear from this woman. And these words are what made me really realize a lot about myself.

Let me back track....

A few months ago a girl and a guy in their late 20s early 30s moved in next door. After a couple weeks of them living there I met him when I came home one night but I never met her. What I noticed about them is that they have a super cute dog and they both drive very nice cars and seem to have good jobs since I see them in business attire. I've seen them a bunch of times and they seem extremely put together, it always seemed like they were the perfect couple from how they were acting. I used to hear (thin apartment walls) them do very loud dirty and intimate things before and thought "wow that doesn't really seem like them". And I started to judge them because of hearing their intimate moments and how irresponsible that seemed to me.

Yesterday, I met the girl that lives next door. She introduced herself to me and apologized if I've been hearing arguments (in my mind I was thinking I've been hearing something but they haven't been arguments) then she told me that he has been cheating on her all along and she just found out. They seemed like the perfect couple. He seemed like the perfect guy. And now thinking back to when I heard those inappropriate moments of theirs, he was probably cheating on her.

Reality slapped me in the face because I judged both of them before I even knew the whole story.

Have you ever dealt with anything like this?
Have you ever judged someone and then found out the truth?

Give me that lip

My look for the day was so simple and easy to do. My absolute favorite part are my lips. They are a deep purply red. My post was inspired by Sarah from Venus Trapped in Mars. Within the last year or so, I've really started wearing more lipsticks. I love the deeper colors for when it's so cold outside. And I love the bright reds as well as the lighter colors, as long as I don't sparkles all over my lips I'm game.

This has become my all time favorite lipstick for the colder months. It's NARS and the color is called Charlotte.

If you check out my Pinterest you will see how much I love lipsticks. I also really like either doing heavier eyes and lighter lips or vice versa, never ever both! You don't want to look like a clown now.
